Apple unveiled all the new capabilities, including those pertaining to productivity, the creation of spatial photographs, and an enhancement to the Travel Mode, that will be included in the Vision OS 2 update for their Vision Pro headset later this year at WWDC 2024.

In Vision OS 2, productivity
The new productivity tools in the upgrade, such the new Mac Virtual Display choices and gestures, are among its most important components. You will be able to create two 4K virtual displays in VisionOS 2 to simulate an ultrawide display. (At the time, the Vision Pro is only capable of creating one virtual 5K Mac display.)

A mouse will be able to be connected to your Vision Pro in addition to a physical keyboard such as Apple's Magic Keyboard when mouse support is added.

The latest version also adds additional hand gestures for the Control Center, battery level, current time, and volume adjustments.

Features added to the Photos app
You'll soon be able to take spatial photographs inside the photographs app with the latest release as well. visionOS 2 will transform a 2D image into a spatial shot by utilizing cutting-edge machine learning. After that, you'll be able to watch your spatial images and videos with your friends and their Spatial Personas by using SharePlay in the Photos app.

Train assistance when in motion
When the Vision Pro was first released, it included a travel mode that allowed you to use the headset while flying. However, the visionOS 2 upgrade now allows you to use your headset on trains as well, so you may use your preferred Vision Pro apps while you're on the train.

Additionally, you can allow a friend to use your Vision Pro as a Guest User and save their hand and eye data for 30 days if you would like to share it with them.

expanded accessibility for Vision Pro
The Apple Vision Pro will be available in additional countries when it launches, along with all these new features in visionOS 2. Pre-orders for the headset open on June 28 at 5 a.m. PT and will launch on July 12 in Canada, Australia, France, Germany, and the UK. Additionally, pre-orders will open on June 13 at 6 p.m. PT, and it will launch on June 28 in mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

Update for visionOS 2
This autumn, all Apple Vision Pro users will be able to download the visionOS 2 update for free. VisionOS 1.2 is already pre-installed on the headset.

This narrative is still evolving. The Apple WWDC conference is scheduled to end on June 14.
